**MumsNBubs classes finish up at the end of March 2012.  Please contact us to arrange a private class for you and your friends if you are interested.  You will need a minimum of six participants.**

POSTNATAL YOGA CLASSES AT TEN TOES
Our MumsNBubs yoga classes are a fun way to interact with your baby and look after your body at the same time. We combine general stretching and strengthening for Mums, while entertaining Bubs. Your body AND baby will benefit!

Class details…

  • For babies 6 weeks to 12 months. (Wait until 12 weeks after a Caesarian birth.)
  • It is a good idea to feed and change Bub before class, but we understand if you need to interrupt your practice to make Bub more comfortable!

What to bring…

  • Baby wrap or blanket
  • Bottle of water for yourself (especially if breastfeeding) and a bottle for Bub if bottle feeding if s/he might need it
  • A spare nappy and change of clothes for Bub just in case
  • We have plenty of mats you can use, but it is nice to have your own (we sell mats cheaply at the studio if you’d like to purchase one)

POSTNATAL YOGA GUIDELINES
The weeks and months after giving birth can be both exhilarating and tiring. It is so easy to become so absorbed in your baby’s needs that your own health and wellness take a back seat. The good news is that it is possible to enjoy your baby and do something nourishing for yourself too.

Use the first six weeks after giving birth to rest and adjust to mothering your newborn, then join our MumsNBubs Yoga class. If you had a Caesarian delivery, wait 12 weeks and check with your doctor before commencing Yoga.

Some general guidelines to keep in mind…

  • Stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day
  • Remember your body is still recovering from pregnancy and child birth – practise gently while you rebuild strength
  • Check with your doctor before beginning Yoga for the first time, especially after a caesarian birth
  • Always approach your Yoga practice with an attitude of mindfulness and self-compassion
  • If a pose or technique doesn’t feel right for you, it probably isn’t. Speak with your teacher about an alternative or modification. Never force a stretch.

WHY IS POSTNATAL YOGA SO BENEFICIAL?
